Hi, I have tried to link with the Galgoczys that are in here but my line must be one of the lost lines. My Grandfather Janos Galgóczy came to America several times (he was a translater on the ships) before he brought his wife Augusta Kocsis) and daughter Rosa to the United States in 1903. My father told me my grandfather had a brother who went to South America. Also when my Grandmother came here she also bought a sister who's family settled in the New England states. Her last name was Kocsis. If this sounds familiar please contact me at "karolyoung@aol.com.

Hello - my name is Lara Regina Galgóczy. My grandfathers' name was György Galgóczy (born 1931) and my grandmother Ilona Galgóczy - nee Safár(born 1931). They were born in Budapest and fled the country during the revolution to South Africa with their two children, György - my father -and Janos - my uncle. My grandfather has since passed away but my grandmother is busy working on our family tree and I will hopefully have more information early next week. We are the only Galgóczy's living in South Africa and have formed our own extensive family now with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I must compliment you on your website - it was so exciting to read up on our family history and to see where our proud name comes from. I can be contacted on reeves@wol.co.za.

Kedves Antal!

Hello! This is in response to Scott Galocy who I have corresponded many times in the US. Scott, more than likely we are related through your great-grandfather Andrew, who is my grandfather's (Balint Galgoczi) brother, but as of to date, you or someone from your family have not furnished a verifying document that truly links your GALOCY lines to my GALGOCZI lines. We need that proof in order to enter it into an offical family line of descendency. Also, out of courtesy, you need to identify the source / person who did the research. I would be very proud to add your info to mine, and visa versa. And I am thrilled that you are interested in your family lines. But we all need a linking document of some sort for verification. I found the marriage application to one of Andrew's wifes, if you could supply the marriage application to his other wifes, that would be great, and provide us the link! God Bless, Nadine

My great grandfather was Andrew, who was the the brother of Walter (Balint) Galgolzci (Galgoci). He arrived in America in 1909 and settled in East Chicago, Indiana. I don't how the name was changed to Galocy, but there are about 25 Galocys in the United States. I'm the 4th generation. Scott

I'm just thankful for the information. If you ever need any U.S. information, let me know. Scott
